We were back at London Road for the championship match between Peterborough United and Wolverhampton Wanderers and our special guests for the day were 9 year old Alex and his 6 year old brother Daniel. Alex was nominated for the opportunity to be mascot by local charity Anna’s Hope. Alex wasn’t well enough to take part in all of the on pitch activities so Daniel stepped in to represent him in the pre-match kickabout and walking out with the teams.
Alex arrived with Daniel, dad Mark and mum Annalise just in time to meet Posh mascot and friend of Free Kicks, Peter Burrow, before heading straight to the dressing room to meet the players, including our ambassadors Bobby Olejnik and George Boyd. After posing for pictures the boys had chance to visit the referee’s room and then make their way to the family stand to have a look at the executive boxes and Cantwell Suite, although we managed to lose Mark at this point!
Alex watched as Daniel joined in the pre match training with mascot hosts Simon and Gavin and the other mascots and waited for his brother to come out of the tunnel with Lee Tomlin.
As always we would like to thank everybody at Peterborough United for helping us make the day special and Carole at Anna’s Hope for nominating Alex.
We would also like to thank Cummins Generator Technologies Ltd for sponsoring this Kick.
