Easter weekend brought us a double header of visits to London grounds for Kicks. On Good Friday brothers Aflie, Charlie and George from Bromley were our special guests at the League 1 game between Leyton Orient and Peterborough United.
The boys were nominated by our friends at Demelza Hospice, who we have worked with on a couple of occasions before on our visits to Charlton and Crystal Palace.
They came along to the Matchroom Stadium with their dad, 2 granddads and grandma. On arrival at the stadium we were all taken to the Gallery bar in the West Stand, then it was down to the dressing room for a chance to have pictures taken with the players and get autographs.
Then it was a quick tour of the rest of the stand, visiting the director’s box where they met O’s Chairman, Barry Hearn, before heading up to the press area.
The boys received their new Orient away kits and went back down to the pitch to watch the teams warm up and then came their starring moment…walking out with the players ahead of kick off. They then took their seats in the stand to see Orient snatch an injury time winner to keep their play-off hopes alive.
We would like to say a huge thanks to Elizabeth and Rachel at the football club and everybody who looked after us brilliantly on the day.
