On Saturday 22nd March we were at the iPro Stadium to see the East Midlands derby between Derby County and Nottingham Forest – but more importantly to take Dylan and Aston on their Kick.
Dylan and Aston were nominated by the me&dee charity and once again we were looked after superbly by the staff at Derby County – even on their biggest home match of the season.
The day started for Dylan and Aston in the club shop to buy some new kits – which seemed to be the plan for half of Derby judging by how busy it was. We survived however and it was a quick change into those kits and time for a kick about on the pitch, before Dylan and Aston got to lead the players onto the pitch ahead of the kick-off.
As the match started Dylan and Aston, and their family, took their seats behind the goal to watch the action. And what action it was. 3-0 at half-time and Derby were flying.
However, even half-time brought no rest on this Kick as both Dylan and Aston were involved in the penalty shoot out against Rammie, the Derby County mascot, with Dylan scoring a couple of great goals.
In the second half, with Derby kicking towards the goal that Dylan and Aston were sat behind, a wonder strike and a penalty made it 5-0 in the end.
A great day to be a Derby fan and hopefully a great Kick for Dylan and Aston.
We would like to thank Patrick Smith for going along to Derby to meet the boys and Maria Hanson for her nominations.
