After a couple of postponements Charlie finally had his mascot day at Dagenham and Redbridge. The match was originally scheduled for just before Christmas but the terrible weather around that time meant the game was called off around lunchtime on the day of the match.
Charlie didn’t know he was going to be mascot until about an hour before kick off last night! His face was a picture when we told him and we presented him with his Daggers kit before he was taken off to the dressing room to meet the players. Then it was onto the pitch for a kick-about with a couple of the coaching staff, before a chance to get his picture taken with captain Mark Arber.
Charlie then made his way back down the tunnel before emerging with the two teams ahead of kick off and then taking his seat in the stand with Mum, Dad and other family members. Sadly for Charlie the Posh won the game 2-0 but, we received a text while on the way home, saying what a wonderful time he had and how much he enjoyed the whole experience.
Thanks to everybody at Dagenham and Redbridge for their hospitality and looking after Charlie brilliantly.
