Our first Kick of a very busy March was at the Championship game between Crystal Palace and Peterborough United. Eleven year old Chloe was our mascot for the day on our second visit to Selhurst Park. Chloe was nominated by our friends at Demelza Hospice in Eltham, who we have worked with on numerous occasions when visiting the capital.
Chloe came along with her family for her first ever football match! We met them all outside the ground before being taking into the hospitality area of the club, where she was given her new kit and posed for photos with the club photographer. Then it was time to head off to meet the players in the dressing room where she had more pictures taken and her poster signed.
Next it was time to head out to pitch-side to savour the atmosphere as it grew on the club’s family day. Chloe wasn’t going to join in the pre-match kick about due to having had treatment the day before but, when the time came, she couldn’t resist going out onto the pitch to join in with the other mascots. Kick off was fast approaching so it was back down the tunnel before walking out with captain Paddy McCarthy to take part in the fair play handshake and then taking her seat with the rest of the family to watch as Palace ran out 1-0 winners to keep their unbeaten run going.
We would like to thank everybody at Selhurst Park for looking after us so well.
