For Peterborough United’s last home game in the Championship against Blackpool, we had a very special guest. Daley who is a season ticket holder in the London Road End is partially sighted and celebrated his 17th birthday the day after the game.
Daley relies on Soccer Sight to keep him up to date with the games, Soccer Sight provides commentary to visually impaired supporters at matches around the country. You can read more about their work here: http://www.footballfoundation.org.uk/about-us/diversity/best-practice-case-studies/soccer-sight/
We were delighted to help, when we were asked by Mark Dowling of Soccer Sight and Nick Sheppard from Posh’s Football in the Community department to give Daley a birthday present he would never forget.
It started with a tour of the ground by Posh Legend Tommy Robson, including a trip to the dressing room to meet the Posh players. Then Daley was presented with a signed Posh shirt by his favourite player Joe Lewis.
