Our special guest at the League 1 game between Peterborough United and Carlisle United on Saturday was 13 year old Daniel, who was nominated to us by Carole Garner at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. He came along with brother Andrew, as well as his parents and grandparents, and was treated to the VIP treatment with a meal in the executive suite and seats behind the directors box.
Daniel was diagnosed with Leukaemia last year and is receiving ongoing treatment at the hospital, his Mum Jane told us that he has coped with everything amazingly well and he has been brave throughout.
Before sitting down for their meal Daniel and his family were given an entertaining tour of the ground by Tony Broughton and Posh legend Tommy Robson. This included a visit to the dressing room where their favourite player George Boyd presented the boys with Posh shirts with his name on the back.
They all then took their seats to watch The Posh continue their good form with a fantastic 6-0 victory over their Cumbrian visitors.
Daniel’s day out was funded by a generous donation from the Eddington family. Before the start of the season we were contacted by Nick and Jo Eddington as their father, who was a Posh season ticket holder, had passed away and the family wanted to make a donation to us on his behalf.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Eddington family for their generosity.
