Finlay and Joe’s Kicks – Tranmere Rovers v Peterborough United

It was an early start due to the four hour drive required for for our third kick of the season, which saw Tranmere Rovers supporters, 7 year old Finlay and his 9 year old cousin Joe, both of Merseyside, take on the experience of being match ball sponsors for the game against Peterborough United. Finlay and Joe were nominated by the Claire House Children’s Hospice on the Wirral in memory of Finlay’s brother, Elliot.

The pair and their families were treated to a meal in the Dixie Dean Suite at Prenton Park before embarking down to the dressing rooms, where they met the Tranmere players. They then went onto the pitch, presented the match ball to the referee and had a photo taken with the captains of both sides and match officials. The boys then took their seats for the match, which ended 5-0 in favour of the visitors. Despite the result, Finlay and Joe said after the match that they had enjoyed the whole experience.

Many thanks to Stephanie from Claire House for nominating Finlay and for coming along to meet us on the day.
