On the same night that Jake had his amazing experience at Everton, another very deserving young man from Norfolk was having an equally fantastic time at Carrow Road. Fraser was a Norwich City mascot for the match against Tottenham Hotspur.
Fraser, from Stow Bardolph, was nominated by our good friend and Posh fan, Ryan Doubleday, who works for Nelson’s Journey, a charity dedicated to supporting bereaved children and young people throughout Norfolk.
We met a very nervous Fraser and his nan,Trish, outside the press entrance at the ground along with all of the other mascots for the evening. They were then whisked off into the stadium to go into the dressing room and meet the players, including our ambassador, Ryan Bennett.
Next time we saw Fraser he was out on the pitch being introduced to the crowd and having pictures taken with the players as they finished their warm up. All the mascots then had a kick about on the pitch before waiting at the tunnel entrance for the players to emerge for the fair play handshake and kick off. The mascots had to draw out lots to see who went out with which player and luckily enough Fraser picked number 1, so had the honour of leading the teams out with captain Grant Holt.
Fraser then took his seat in the stands to watch as the teams battled out a 1-1 draw. As an extra surprise we organised a signed shirt to be sent to Fraser along with his mascot pictures.
We would like to thank all at Norwich City, especially Chloe Turner and Ryan Bennett who helped organise the signed shirt.
