We headed north for our next kick to Turf Moor, home of Burnley, for the Championship match with Peterborough United. Harriet was our guest for the day and was to be The Clarets’ mascot, despite breaking her foot in the week leading up to the game! Harriet was nominated by Aileen Christopher from Pendleside Hospice and came along on the day with mum Trish, dad Dave and best friend Meesha.
We met Harriet, already in her kit, in the car park at the ground and were taken off to one of the hospitality areas in the Jimmy McIlroy stand before she was taken off to the dressing rooms to meet the players and manager Eddie Howe, Meesha acted as our photographer for the day and took pictures in the tunnel area and in the dug out.
Obviously due to her injury Harriet was unable to take part in the pre-match kickabout which took place inside the Elite Training Academy next to the stadium. It was then time to head into the ground and the club photographer and Meesha helped Harriet to the centre of the pitch to wait for the captains and match officials. The girls were then taken to their seats with mum and dad to watch as Burnley came from behind to win an exciting game 5-2.
We would like to thank Aileen for nominating Harriet and Rachel Bradley and everyone at Burnley FC for their brilliant hospitality on the day.
