Jack’s Kick – Peterborough United v Southend United

Our first Posh mascot of 2016 was 12 year old Jack, from Fletton. Jack attends Heltwate School and, as a huge Peterborough fan, was delighted to meet our Patron, Darragh MacAnthony when he visited the school at Christmas to deliver presents to all the pupils.

Jack’s mum, Nicola, contacted the football club to ask if there was any chance Jack could meet the players and, when this was highlighted to us, we jumped at the opportunity to arrange a special treat for him. We offered him the chance to be a mascot at the game against Southend United, which he was delighted with, as it meant he didn’t have long to wait.

On the day Jack brought his family along and, together, their first stop of the day was the dressing room to meet the team. The players happily posed for photos with him and signed his programme as a souvenir. This was followed by a visit to the boardroom and other hospitality areas, a coaching session on the pitch and the traditional walk out onto the pitch with the teams.

Our thanks go to all at Heltwate School, Darragh and everyone at Peterborough United.
