Our second mascot at London Road in a week was Jamie from Wisbech St Mary who was nominated to receive a day out at Peterborough Utd by East Anglian Children’s Hospice at Milton.
Jamie came along with mum, dad and sister Lucy for his special treat after finishing treatment. We met them all in the reception of the stadium before meeting the club’s Simon Morby, who was going to look after Jamie while he prepared for the match. First it was into the dressing rooms where he had his picture taken with most of the players including Lee Tomlin, then it was time for a tour of the rest of the stadium where Jamie learned more about the history of Peterborough United and the ground.
After visiting the Board Room Jamie put his brand new Posh kit on before taking to the pitch along with the other mascots to be put through his paces by Simon. Then it was time to go down the tunnel to prepare to come out on the pitch ahead of kick off before returning to his family in the stand as Posh ran out 1-0 winners!
As usual our thanks go to all at Peterborough United for their hospitality
