Josh’s Kick – Peterborough United v Gillingham

August 29th 2015 saw a major milestone for us at Free Kicks, at it was the day we reached 500 Kicks. The person we chose to share this day with was Joshua, who came along with his family to be a team mascot for the game against Gillingham.

Joshua had been nominated by Dani from the Young Carers Trust, Peterborough, and we had met him previously when we sponsored the Ipswich game in July. He had shown such an interest and passion in football that we invited him to be a mascot later in the season…and this was his big day!

Despite having Josh as a lucky mascot, the Posh only managed a draw with the Gills, due to a late equaliser by Jon Taylor. He still enjoyed his day and was able to go home with his kit and lots of players’ autographs as souvenirs.

Many thanks to Dani Cousins from Peterborough Young Carers Trust, Simon Morby and all at Peterborough United.
