We were back at one of our favourite grounds for our first Kick in April, The John Smiths Stadium, home of Huddersfield Town, was the venue for Joshua’s mascot day for the relegation clash with Peterborough United.
Joshua was nominated by the Yorkshire Children’s Centre and came along with mum, Lisa, plus his uncle and his cousin too. We met them near the player’s entrance, where he was excitedly waiting for his treat to begin. The family were taken into the stadium where they visited the dressing room; Joshua posed for pictures with the players and got them to sign his programme. There was time to sit down afterwards and have a drink in Strikers Bar, which has a fantastic view out on to the pitch.
Next on the agenda was heading back to pitchside where Joshua met Terry the Terrier and had a warm up and kick about with the other mascots, before heading down the tunnel ready to come out on the pitch with captain, Peter Clarke. Joshua then took his seat as the teams played out a thrilling 2-2 draw!
We would like to thank theYorkshire Children’s Centre for nominating Joshua and everybody at Huddersfield Town, especially Karen Haigh, for their hospitality, which was as warm and welcoming as ever.
