Joshua’s Kick – Peterborough United v Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough were the visitors to London Road for the Championship game with Peterborough United and our special guest mascot for the day was Joshua, from Hampton in Peterborough. Joshua was nominated to us by Shine Charity for his treat and came along with dad Craig and friends Danny and Clyde.

As always the day started with meeting mascot hosts Simon and Gav in reception at London Road and being given his new Posh kit. We then headed out on the tour of the ground, making our way to the home dressing room first, where Joshua had photos taken and got autographs in his programme. He was particularly excited to meet his favourite player and Free Kicks ambassador, George Boyd. A brief peek into the away dressing room where the shirts were laid out ready for the Boro players to arrive and then a chance to see the referee’s room and hold the substitutes board and match ball. We then made out way over to the family stand to have a look at the view from the Executive boxes and smell the food in Club 75, before going back to the main stand and a visit to the boardroom.

Joshua then had time for a kick about on the pitch with the other mascots, before coming out of the tunnel with George Boyd and taking his seat to watch an exciting match that ended 3-2 to the visitors.

Thank you to all at PUFC for their support and hospitality and Andrew Ellis at Shine for nominating Joshua.
