Kieran’s Kick – Cardiff City v Peterborough United

We made the long journey to South Wales for our next Kick and Kieran was our mascot for the top v bottom Championship game between Cardiff City and Peterborough United. Kieran was nominated by the YMCA in Cardiff for his special day out.

We met Kieran and his dad inside the ground, where he was already in his new City kit and eagerly anticipating meeting the players as they arrived at the ground. We were taken to wait outside the home dressing room and all the players were happy to sign programmes and pose for pictures. As well as that we had arranged a special treat for Kieran thanks to our ambassador and Cardiff goalkeeper, Joe Lewis. Joe brought along a ball signed by all of the team for Kieran which we presented him with at this point.

After that the mascots were taken into manager Malky Mackay’s offices for more pictures and then to on the pitch for a training session with one of the youth coaches. Kieran’s moment of glory came when he got to lead out the team in front of 26,000 people, before taking his seats with the rest of his family to see the shock 2-1 win for the away team.

We would like to thank all at Cardiff City for their brilliant hospitality, Joe for his generous gift and Cardiff YMCA for nominating Kieran.
