Our first Kick at Notts County (the 36th different club we have visited) took place on Tuesday night when Peterborough United were the visitors to Meadow Lane. Six year old Kieran from Long Eaton was our special guest for the night.
Kieran was nominated by Sam at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, and came along with his Dad Ian and Nan. He was proudly wearing his Notts shirt when we met them at the entrance to the ground, before they started the evening with a tour of the ground hosted by ex-player Ian Richardson. There was just time for pictures in the dressing room and by the side of the pitch before heading up to the restaurant for a meal.
Kieran then went back to the dressing room to meet the players and get some autographs in his notebook. Then it was on to the pitch for a kick-about with the other mascot and coaches, before going back into the tunnel ready to walk out with his favourite player Stephen Darby.
Kieran and his family then took their seats in the stand to watch as The Posh beat The Magpies 1-0 with a goal from Free Kicks ambassador Charlie Lee.
We would like to thank everybody at Notts County for their help, especially Wendy Cox for helping us organise Kieran’s special day.
