Our tenth and final mascot at London Road this season was Lemar, who was our guest at the Championship game with Watford. Lemar actually had a double nomination; not only did we hear about him from Hampton Football Club, where he is a member of the Under 9’s team, but he was also nominated by Carole Garner at Addenbrookes Hospital.
Lemar came along with mum Clara, dad Kevin and sister Aasia and we met them all in reception ready for him to receive his new kit and meet Simon, the mascot co-ordinator, and get ready for the tour of the ground. First stop, as always, was the dressing room where Lemar got his programme signed by all of the players, then it was off to the referee’s room and around the ground to check out the executive boxes and the player’s gym.
After a training session on the pitch, it was time to go back down the tunnel ready to come out with Lemar’s favourite player Mark Little. The family then took their seats in the stand to watch the 2-2 draw between the Posh and the Hornets.
We would like to thank all at Peterborough United for their hospitality over our busiest season yet.
