Boxing Day saw us heading to a new club to host one of our Kicks, Wolverhampton was our destination for the Championship match between Wolves and Peterborough United.
Our mascot for the day was 16 year old Matty, who is a huge Wanderers fan and had only recently asked about being a mascot. He only found out that he would be doing just that on the morning of the match and was a little overwhelmed when we met him at the Billy Wright Statue outside Molineux. Matty was nominated by Helen Masters at his school, Tettenwood Hall, for his treat and came along with foster parents Alison and Phil for his treat.
The staff at Wolves kindly allowed us into the ground briefly to take a couple of pictures of Matty before he got changed into his new kit and visited the dressing room, where he met his footballing heroes. Next it was down to pitchside in horrible, wet conditions for a kickabout with the other mascots. The club looked after him brilliantly and assigned one of the lads from the community department to escort Matty at all times.
Matty proudly lead the team out onto the pitch before taking his seat in the stand to watch as the home team were beaten 3-0.
We would like to thank all at Wolves, especially Kerri Davies and, of course, Ryan at Happy Days and Helen Masters for nominating Matty for his special day.
