It was a freezing cold day and the snow had to be cleared from the pitch on the morning of our latest Kick, at the Championship game between Peterborough United and Hull City, and our mascot for the day was 6 year old Nathan from the city. Nathan was nominated by everybody’s favourite rabbit and Posh mascot, Peter Burrow, and came along for his treat accompanied by his family.
Nathan was just getting changed into his new Posh away kit when we met him in the David Seaman Suite and was very excited about the day ahead as he had only been told on the morning of the game that he was going to be mascot. Nathan is a huge Posh fan and was keen to share his knowledge of the club with us all through the pre match build up, sometimes knowing more about players than his dad Andrew!
When we asked Nathan who his favourite player was he pretty much named all of them, so he was very excited to visit the dressing room and meet his heroes, where he had pictures taken and got autographs. He then visited the referee’s room and the boardroom before returning to the Seaman Suite to get warmed up before the kick about on the pitch, in which Nathan wholeheartedly joined in and got a huge cheer from the Posh fans when scoring at the London Road End.
Nathan then took his seat with the rest of his family to watch as the teams battled out a 1-1 draw.
We would like to thank everybody at Peterborough United for looking after us so well and Peter Burrow for nominating Nathan for his day.
