Owen’s Kick – Norwich City v Manchester City

For a few seasons now we have had the pleasure of working with Nelson’s Journey, a charity dedicated to supporting bereaved children and young people throughout Norfolk.
Owen lost his dad in February 2013 and has been working with the organisation since then. The team wanted to arrange something special for Owen as he and his dad used to go to watch the team and football was a big part of their lives. We arranged for him and his mum, Nicola, to go along to the fixture against Manchester City where Owen was to be a team mascot.

Here is what Owen told us about his day at Carrow Road :

It’s Owen here thank you ever so much for giving me the opportunity to be a mascot for the Norwich vs Man City game it really has given me a boost with my feelings about my dad. As walked out onto the pitch I felt as if he was watching over me because I knew if he’s up there he’ll be having a free season ticket and watching me all the while. The noise of the crowd as I ran out was overwhelming and I was so glad I got to walk out with Alexander Tetty and to then shake all of the Man City players hands was really something else. I also thought it was a good game on Norwich’s behalf.

I really can’t thank you enough for putting me up for this.
