Young Carers Kick – Peterborough United v Ipswich Town

Our first Kicks of the new 2015/16 season were at our beloved Peterborough Utd. We were offered the opportunity to sponsor one of the pre-season friendly matches, and chose the fixture against Ipswich Town at the end of July.

We invited some young people from the wonderful Carers Trust Peterborough, and seven Young Carers came along on the day to enjoy the Posh’s wonderful hospitality. The afternoon started with a tour of the ground and a visit to the dressing room, where the guys met the players for photos and autographs.
Lunch was followed by a quick appearance by Chairman, Darragh MacAnthony and the (then) Manager, Dave Robertson. They answered a few questions and happily posed for pictures with everyone there.

Finally it was time for the game. With the new season just two weeks away both sides fought hard for the win, but neither team managed to find a breakthrough and it ended as a 0-0 draw.

Huge thanks to Dani Cousins from the Carers Trust, and Peterborough United.
