Our mascot at the Posh v Millwall fixture in early October was an old friend of Peterborough United, and was excited at going to meet them again.
Phoebe suffers from a rare genetic skin disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa, which makes her day to day life very difficult. Zoe, Phoebe’s mum, has founded The Phoebe Research Fund, with the aim to make the possibility of a cure for this devastating disease a reality, and the Posh players had previously pledged their support to her.
When we heard about this courageous girl, we immediately offered her the opportunity to be a team mascot for the Posh, on the same day that members of the foundation carried out a bucket collection at the ABAX Stadium. Phoebe changed into her new football kit, before meeting up with the players and management in the dressing room. She also walked out with the team to an amazing reception from the crowd, who had read about her incredible courage in the matchday programme.
Thanks as always to everyone at Peterborough United for their incredible hospitality.
