Every now and again we like to provide a different experience at Peterborough United home games, something other than the mascot packages. Sponsoring a match provides us with the ideal opportunity to invite a greater number of guests to enjoy an evening of great food and football.
For the evening fixture against Burton Albion, which was rearranged due to Posh’s involvement in the FA Cup, we invited some players from the Posh Deaf team, plus some signers and family members. As part of the sponsorship package, the party were able to meet the players in the dressing room and collect autographs and have pictures taken with them. A full tour of the ground followed, led by Posh legend, Tommy Robson, who provided facts, figures and humorous tales of his time as a player.

Once they returned to the Sponsor’s Lounge a delicious carvery was waiting for them, after which the Peterborough Utd manager, Graham Westley popped in to answer any questions the party had.
Later the group watched from comfortable padded seats as Burton narrowly beat the Posh 1-0.
We’d like to thank and congratulate Andy Palmer, coordinator of Peterborough Deaf Football Club, who recently won the local Halifax Giving Award for this area. He works tirelessly to provide sporting activities to deaf players of all ages, and helped us to organise this successful evening. Our thanks go as well to all at PUFC for their continual outstanding hospitality and support.
