The fourth of our five mascots nominated by Sue Ryder Care this season was 12 year old Shayla. We have worked with this amazing organisation for several years now and are proud to offer them these experiences, which they pass on to some very brave and deserving young people.
Shayla came along to the Peterborough United game against Swindon and brought her mum, dad and brother with her. The family were treated to a tour of the ground first, followed by the exciting trip to the dressing room to meet the players. Shayla was the only Posh mascot so took part in the coaching session with the two visiting Swindon mascots and Simon, mascot coordinator.
Rounding off an exciting afternoon, she walked out onto the pitch ahead of kick off with new team captain, Michael Smith, and took part in the fairplay handshake, before returning to her family to watch the game.
Our thanks go to Jo Ruff from Sue Ryder Care and all at Peterborough United.
