The other kick that took place on Saturday was with Sophie at Pride Park for Derby County v Coventry City.
Sophie was nominated as a Community Champion by Maria Hanson from the charity Me & Dee and came to the match with her mum and dad. The latest kit waiting for Sophie as she arrived and she was able to get it signed as she met the players in the changing rooms ahead of kick-off.
Sophie seemed particularly excited to meet Dean Leacock and Robbie Savage was a gent, as were all of the players. We think she got everyone’s signature, but it was hard to read them to check!
There was time to go pitchside to meet Nigel Clough and Rammie the mascot, then it was to the seats right behind the dug-out to watch the match.
The game started badly for Derby with Coventry grabbing two quick goals. But Derby pulled it level before half-time with a Robbie Savage penalty the equaliser and it finished 2-2.
Everyone at Derby was great – but special thanks to Faye who was very busy all day but made sure that the day was a special one for Sophie.
We would also like to thank Patrick Smith from Joshua PR who went along to the game on our behalf.
