Will was our mascot for the game between Hull City and Swansea City, he was nominated by Dove House Hospice for his day our at the KC Stadium.
We received this lovely email in the weeks after.
It is now a couple of weeks since Will’s mascot day at Hull City and I am just writing to let you know what a great day it was.
Coming just two days after his Mum’s funeral we were tired and raw with emotion; but the day was great. Hull City could not have done more to make us feel welcome and make Will feel special.
In particular he enjoyed meeting the players, and special mention must go to Liam Rosenior (Rosy as he in known from the stands) who introduced himself to Will and took him (and me) to the home dressing room before the match. The players were open and kind to him, all signing the shirt that you supplied and Elmohmady (Will’s favourite player) gave him his shirt after the match. If we had won we would have been invited to the dressing room after the match but it was not to be.
Liam also gave Will a pair of his boots that he had played in during a previous match. signed “Good luck Will”. The shirts and boots now have pride of place in his bedroom.
Once again thank you so much for bringing a little brightness into these, our darkest of days.
Kind regards and good luck to Freekicks.
Alex and Will Norman
Thank you to all at Hull City, especially Liam Rosenior for his kindness. Also to George Boyd for putting us in touch with Liam and to Dove House for nominating Will.
