Crap (and good) players memorabilia auction – Thursday 7th March

Ever wanted to get your hands on a signed mercurial midfielder’s shirt or a pair of shorts once worn in a League Two promotion race? Well now is your chance as PISA 2000 are pleased to host the ‘average Posh players auction’ at Ebeneezers on Thursday 7 March at 7pm.

Posh players that have gone down in folklore and still dominate pre-match conversation from times gone by, for their ‘special’ performances at London Road over the years, will be celebrated on this one-off and unique occasion.

We also have other fantastic prizes up for auction, including, a season ticket for the 2013/14 season provided by chairman Darragh MacAnthony, a current Posh and international player’s signed boots and a very special shirt from a recently departed Peterborough United hero.

All auction prizes will be paired up, containing items from good and the not so good from previous Posh eras. The winner of any bid will have the chance to win a good prize or not so good prize. If the winning bidder draws the good prize, they pay in full, but if the winner draws the ‘not so good prize’ then payment will be maximum £20.

Some of the auction prizes on offer are:
Match-worn shirts from Posh ‘legends’ including: Scott Griffiths, Phil Chapple, Darren Caskey, Kieran Charnock, and many more

Prizes also up for auction include:
• A season ticket at London Road for next season, two subscriptions to Darragh MacAnthony’s new magazine, TwentyFourSeven Football
• Signed Grant McCann boots
• Bobby Olejnik’s autographed gloves
• A match-worn shirt from ex-striker Andy Clarke
• A substitutes board ‘liberated’ from our promotion at Saltergate in 1991
• And George Boyd’s match-worn away shirt from the League Two promotion season signed by that squad as well as much more.

All proceeds raised at this event will be shared between the Peterborough-based charity, the Free Kicks Foundation, and Papworth Hospital, who recently looked after Posh legend Sir Tommy Robson.

PISA 2000 chairman Adi Mowles commented: “This is a new and inventive idea which will give supporters a chance to own some treasured Posh memorabilia, while also raising a lot of money for some fantastic local causes.”

Posh players and management past and present will be in attendance for what should be an entertaining evening. Doors open at 7pm at PISA 2000 HQ, Ebeneezers, Grove Street, Peterborough, PE2 9AG. Entry is free for PISA 2000 members and £1 for non-members.
