Free Kicks and Euro 2012

We are delighted to be named as the official charity for Peterborough’s biggest Euro 2012 party. The events are organised by SJB Events and The Sports Lounge in King Street in the city centre.

Simon Baker from SJB Events explains what is happening:

We will be putting on the BEST Street party to celebrate the forthcoming European Championship this Summer 2012. After the success of the World Cup street parties we held in 2010 we wanted to up the level and put on an amazing street party that will see the start of a huge amount of bespoke events on King Street in Peterborough.

Primarily we will be hosting just the England games but we will be looking to host other games over the tournament from 8th June to 1st July 2012. The games will see all the hype that we had for the previous events on King Street plus much much more! Our build up beings around 2 hours before kick-off for each game with an amazing pre-game build up with DJ’s, LIVE! Bands, Compares & guests, then we will be showing every game on our massive 20sq meter LED Screen and piping the commentary through our concert style sound-system to make you feel like you are in the stadium.

After the King Street regeneration project has finished at the end of May 2012 we will be able to have around 1,000 people allowed onto the road which will be barriered off and have all the usual outdoor facilities plus a much quicker serving bar
with your ‘served in seconds policy’ and no waiting around and not the prices you see normally at an outdoor event!

Get ready for the Euro’s as we are gonna have the best Street Parties Yet !!! .. Come On England !!! …

Simon has kindly agreed to donate a portion of each ticket for at least one of the England games to Free Kicks Foundation, as well as letting us have bucket collectors at all England games and we will also have a stall taking donations for England goody bags for the kids.
