Following on from our season ticket initiative with Torfaen Young People Support Service (TYPSS) we have taken our relationship with the team in Cwmbran a step further. Four service users of TYPSS from the area attained places on a Futsal Scholarship jointly run by Cardiff City FC and a local college, Ystrad Mynach. The 2 year course will hopefully see the young people attain the equivalent of 3 ‘A’ Levels in sports studies. TYPSS had been unable to obtain grants to purchase the kits for the four lads so Free Kicks have stepped in with a sponsorship agreement which will mean they can continue with their course.
This partnership is something slightly different from the days out and mascot packages that Free Kicks usually arrange but we feel that this could be life changing for the 4 young people so jumped at the opportunity. The lads went along to Cardiff City Stadium late last year, where they were given a tour of the ground by Barrie Mcauliffe, as well as meeting our ambassador Joe Lewis at the Championship match with Leeds United.
We are very proud to be helping these young lads with their education and hope that they go on to be huge successes in their careers.
