The first day of the Football League season was an exciting one for brother and sister, Harry and Milly from Barrington as they had both been nominated to be mascots for Peterborough United in their home game with Swindon Town.
Harry and Milly were chosen by city-based charity Shine and came along with mum, dad, sister and grandparents! First job was to kit them out with their new Posh football strips and meet Simon the mascot host at London Road. Then it was off to the dressing room to meet the players, get autographs and have pictures taken, before a visit to the officials room and a chance to sit in manager Darren Ferguson’s seat. Lots of photo opportunities followed in the family stand where the history of all the Posh kits from over the years are painted on the wall. We then walked round the pitch to the boardroom, before time for a drink and preparation to head to the pitch for a kick about with the other mascots. The children then went back into the tunnel before coming back out onto the pitch ahead of kick off.
Harry and Milly then joined their family in the stand to watch as the home team won 1-0.
Thanks to all at Peterborough United for their support as always and Clara at Shine for nominating Harry and Milly.
