Lucy was our mascot at the big promotion clash between Peterborough United and Wolves in November, nominated by Peterborough Downs Syndrome Group. She came along with mum Karen, dad Terry and brother Luke.
Lucy had a fantastic time before the match, meeting the players in the dressing room, running about on the pitch keeping the mascot co-ordinator, Simon, very busy and even having her picture taken with a Lord! Lord Mawhinney was at the game as he is a long-term Posh fan and happily posed with Lucy for the photo opportunity.
The Kick was the second in memory of Bev Booth, a dear friend of Free Kicks. Money raised at Bev’s funeral was used to fund Lucy’s great day out and the Booth family requested that that the recipient was a child with Down’s Syndrome.
Thank you to all at Peterborough United, Bev’s family John, Tim and Matt and Lucy for putting smiles on lots of faces!
