This year, the Free Kicks Foundation has partnered with Drogheda United to create special matchday opportunities for local children. Together, we are helping disadvantaged young people experience football in a way they might not otherwise have the chance to.
A Mission Built on Opportunity
The Free Kicks Foundation aims to give every child access to positive experiences through football, regardless of their background. We focus on supporting disadvantaged children, understanding that even small opportunities can make a big difference.
By offering children the chance to be matchday mascots, we give them more than just a day out. It helps build confidence, a sense of belonging, and excitement. Walking onto the pitch with players is something they will remember for years to come.

A Natural Partnership with Drogheda United
Working with Drogheda United has been a great fit, which comes off the back of our work with Walsall FC Foundation and the football club’s shared ownership.
The club has strong ties to its community and shares our commitment to making a positive impact.
Through this partnership, children are invited to attend matches as official mascots. They are welcomed as special guests, meet players, and walk out onto the pitch in front of supporters.
For many, it is their first experience of a professional football environment. It is a proud moment for the children and their families.

The Power of a Matchday Experience
This initiative can have a real impact on young people. For children facing challenges, being part of a matchday can boost confidence and make them feel valued.
Parents, carers, and teachers often notice positive changes afterwards, including increased motivation and enthusiasm.
Building a Brighter Future Together
The partnership between the Free Kicks Foundation and Drogheda United is about creating opportunities and supporting young people. We hope to grow the programme and reach even more children over time. Each mascot experience helps make football more inclusive and gives children the chance to feel part of something special.
This partnership shows what can be achieved by working together with a shared goal. As more children walk out onto the pitch with their heroes, it reinforces a simple message: football is for everyone, and every child deserves their moment.
