About Us

At Free Kicks Foundation, our mission is to create unforgettable sporting experiences for disadvantaged children and young adults across the country.

Since our launch in 2007, we’ve helped nearly 2,000 incredible young people attend fixtures and meet their favourite teams. Whether it’s leading a team onto the pitch as a mascot, enjoying a stadium’s hospitality, or simply watching a beloved club play, each experience – what we call a ‘Kick’ – is designed to bring joy and happiness to not just the child, but their whole family too.

Every child and family we meet leaves a lasting impact. The excitement on their faces when they meet players or explore behind the scenes makes all the hard work worthwhile. Beyond the thrill of the experience, a ‘Kick’ can help boost confidence, improve social connections, and provide a welcome break from daily challenges.

Over the years, we’ve partnered with various organisations to identify the families who will benefit most. Our collaborations include Down Syndrome and Young Carer support groups, mental health organisations, children’s hospices, disability teams, and charities such as Young Lives vs Cancer, Sue Ryder Bereavement Support, and Mencap. We also work closely with football clubs’ Community Trusts, whose outreach efforts help pinpoint children in need. Additionally, we warmly welcome public nominations via our website.

Every ‘Kick’ we provide is made possible through fundraising and the dedication of our Trustees and supporters. Our annual events – cycle rides, quizzes, cricket and football matches, golf days – and countless one-off fundraisers organised by generous individuals ensure we can continue bringing joy to young fans.
