We are delighted to announce that the Ticket Fund created by ourselves and Peterborough United has been a fantastic success. We would like to thank everybody who contributed to the fund which has raised over £6000.
In the end a total of 33 families, totalling 114 Posh fans, were able to travel to Wembley to watch Peterborough United win the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, thanks to the fund. 96 of those supporters were provided with coach travel to London from the Weston Homes Stadium as well.
One lucky family benefited from seats in the Club Wembley, and another family experienced the cup final in style in an Executive Box donated to us by Posh fan, Andy Richards. We were also gifted a further three tickets by Sportsrooms, the recipients of these were able to watch the game from the accessible seating section.
We would like to thank everyone at the football club for their help in making the project such a successful one, including Head of Media & Marketing, Clive Edwards and Chris Brewer, Head of Ticketing & Systems.
Clive said “When Free Kicks Foundation approached us about this idea, we were very excited to be able to support the initiative. It has been a fantastic effort by all our supporters to either contribute financially or spread the word about the fund. We couldn’t have raised such a fantastic amount and given so many people the chance to visit the national stadium without our supporters truly getting behind the idea. The whole Peterborough United family have shown how committed we all are to making this a family orientated, inclusive football club”.
We hope all those Posh fans that attended thanks to the fund enjoyed their afternoon in the capital, watching Posh lift the trophy.
