Free Kicks Foundation’s annual Golf Day took place on Friday 18th September, with 21 teams taking part on a sunny day at Thorney Golf Club near Peterborough.
As usual, the wind blew across the Fens, but that didn’t stop 84 golfers from enjoying their round, followed by an excellent carvery provided by our hosts.

Congratulations to CC Heating & Plumbing
The winners of the Stableford competition were one of our regular hole sponsors, CC Heating & Plumbing, who finished with an impressive 109 points.
The result seemed to come as quite a surprise to the team when the winners were announced!

Over £7,000 raised for Free Kicks
The golfers were hugely generous throughout the day, both when buying raffle tickets and during the auction, helping to raise more than £7,000 for Free Kicks Foundation.
Among the auction prizes was a signed Erling Haaland shirt, kindly donated by Manchester City, a signed Manchester United shirt, and a signed match-worn shirt from our Peterborough United sponsored player, Matt Garbett.

The money raised will help Free Kicks Foundation continue creating special sports-related experiences for ill, bereaved and disadvantaged children and young people, together with their families.
A huge thank you goes to all of the teams who helped make it such an enjoyable day, our hole sponsors who continue to support us year after year, our volunteers who helped on the day, Chroma Sports for providing the trophies, and Thorney Golf Club for their fantastic hospitality.

We’ll be back in 2027
We’re delighted to have already booked next year’s Golf Day, which will once again take place at Thorney Golf Club on 17th September 2027.
The event will form part of Free Kicks Foundation’s 20th anniversary celebrations, with plenty more to come as we begin making plans for this very special milestone.
We look forward to seeing everyone again!
